These shackle style tire chain adjusters are primarily used with heavy equipment and forestry tire chains. They utilize a bolt and plate design for tensioning and are tightened by turning a nut on a threaded rod, which in turn pushes the adjuster plate up to tighten the chain arms. Made from link chain and shackles, they are fully adjustable and can even have longer chain arms added to allow for further adjustments depending on the tire size. The work exclusively with link chains.
