Chain binders are a common devise used with transport type binder chains to tighten or “bind" the chains taught. We offer the most popular types of chain load binders including lever, ratchet, and folding types. Our chain binders are heavy grade and higher rated than most standard binders available on the market. We also offer Peerless brand folding type ratcheting chain binders and the popular Peerless ProLok66 adjustable lever binder.
Lever Binders are the most common type of chain binder and use an “over center" lever action to tighten or “bind" the chain. These binders are often considered more dangerous than other types as they can snap when released from the load shifting etc. and strike the operator when releasing. Combination winch bars or “cheater bars" are commonly used to tighten or lock down lever type chain binders. We offer lever type chain binders that work with chain sizes 1/4" – 5/8" and a variety of chain grades. The Peerless brand ProLok66 type lever binder features an adjustable threaded end that allows it to be easily repositioned for a better grip or “next link" on transport chain.
Ratchet Binders utilize a ratcheting mechanism and handle to operate. These binders have threaded hook ends that are tightened or loosed by operating the handle. These binders are much safer than lever type and are preferred by many fleets for this reason. We offer ratchet type chain binders that work with chain sizes 1/4" – 5/8" and a variety of chain grades.
Folding Handle Ratchet Binders are identical in function and operation to standard ratcheting type chain binders except for the handle. On this type of binder, the handle folds down or "collapses" to save space or as-to not extend past the width of the trailer or load. We are proud to offer the Peerless brand lineup of folding handle ratchet type chain binders.
